Madison, Wisconsin 1988. A happy accident at the Dane County Farmers’ Market brought upon the birth of the mighty Hot & Spicy Cheese Bread — baker Coralia Harn was making empanadas. She grew tired of pinching the dough but had lots of extra cheese left. She decided to bake a Vienna bread but with pockets filled with cheese. This new bread concoction has not stopped selling out ever since, and it’s been over 25 years!
