On a Wednesday in April 2020, Arya Alexander and Anastasia Geroulis were home in Los Angeles wondering what to make for dinner. They turned on the TV, saw Gordon Ramsay cooking Beef Wellington, and were inspired. They made one that night. It turned out so good that they started selling them to friends and family, and Wellingtons LA was born.

Three years later, they appeared on Shark Tank Season 15, Episode 3, which aired October 13, 2023, asking for $200,000 for 10% equity. The Sharks loved the product but passed on the deal. Kevin O’Leary was already selling a competing product, Mark Cuban found the sales model too complex, and the others followed. Arya and Anastasia left without a deal.

The episode drove a surge in traffic and sales. Wellingtons LA crossed $600,000 in annual revenue in 2023 and has since surpassed $3.7 million in total lifetime sales, all while remaining 100% founder-owned.

Taking Kevin O’Leary’s on-air advice to heart, the founders shifted focus toward direct-to-consumer sales and refined their cold-chain shipping process. They expanded into Costco, launched Welly Bites for entertaining, and added a Shark Tank Sampler pack for fans who discovered them through the show.

What Is a Wellingtons LA Beef Wellington?

Wellingtons LA takes the classic fine-dining dish and makes it doable at home.
