Where Did Trash Can Nachos Originate?
Trash Can Nachos were first served at the South Beach Food & Wine Festival in 2015. Guy Fieri needed to make a mega batch of nachos during a live cooking demo but he didn’t have a container large enough to make the colossal finger food. He used a large — and clean! — metal trash can to create a tall tower of nachos.
The concept was so popular he added them to the menus of several of his restaurants. The signature nachos are on the menus at Guy Fieri’s Dive Bar and Taco Joint in Kansas City, Missouri, and Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen & Bar, which has 12 locations in the U.S. and five outposts overseas.
